Sunsetz丨AMV | Motion Graphics

The entire editing, compositing, and visual execution of the video were created in Adobe After Effects. During the workflow, I employed a layered compositional structure, allowing for precise timing of scenes, effects, and animations in alignment with the musical accents. I frequently used masking techniques to emphasize characters, as well as keyframe-based animations and custom transitions to maintain emotional continuity between scenes.

One of the most important aspects of the project was the selection of music. I chose a track with minimal lyrical content, which allowed for the inclusion of longer dialogue segments. This presented a technical challenge, as most original anime scenes contain background music. Audio post-production was carried out in Adobe Audition, where I reduced or removed the original background music through various audio-processing techniques, ensuring that the dialogue remains clear and intelligible while blending naturally with the musical foundation.

I placed strong emphasis on ensuring that the visual presentation closely reflects the mood of the music. Various overlays and graphic animations were used, all of which were individually animated. It was a deliberate decision to avoid repeating visual motifs; instead, each scene features unique graphic elements that integrate harmoniously into the overall composition without creating visual clutter.

To establish a consistent visual atmosphere across scenes, I applied color correction using Maxon Magic Bullet Looks. In addition, I utilized ink-style overlays and various transitional effects. Typography also plays a significant role in the AMV: multiple typefaces were used, animated with custom settings and scripts to ensure that the text elements appear dynamically and respond to the rhythm of the music.

Throughout the creation of the AMV, my goal was to ensure that the concept, music, sound design, and visual elements come together as a unified, emotionally coherent, and technically polished work. The technical solutions were intentionally designed not to be self-serving, but to support storytelling and emotional impact, allowing the viewer space for immersion and interpretation.
