Abandoned Carousel - Environment Asset

The carousel is designed as a centerpiece of the abandoned amusement park environment, blending a sense of nostalgia with an eerie, unsettling atmosphere. Its slow rotation, creaking details, and rusted surfaces enhance the haunting mood, while still capturing the charm of a once lively fairground.

From a technical standpoint, the horses were sculpted in ZBrush, allowing for intricate organic details. They were then textured in Substance Painter, where weathered paint, scratches, and rust were added to emphasize their age and decay. The main structure and modular elements of the carousel were modeled in Maya, ensuring clean topology and flexibility during the design process. The final renders were produced with Arnold Renderer, focusing on realistic lighting and materials to achieve a cinematic quality.

By combining detailed sculpting, physically based texturing, and high-quality rendering, the carousel serves as both a technical showcase and a storytelling element within the environment.
